Are you wondering how you can apply for the NIRSAL loan? you can actually do that on www nmfb com ng sme. We are going to show you how you can do that.

NIRSAL which stands for Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing system for Agricultural Lending began in 2011 but was incorporated in 2013 by the CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria) as a dynamic, holistic USD500 Million public-private initiative to speed up the flow of investments and finance into fixed agricultural value chains.

The program aims to address the causes of low funding levels in the Nigerian agricultural sector. This includes a lack of understanding of the sector, complex credit assessment procedures/processes, perceived high risks, and high transaction costs.

NIRSAL is actually calling on every smallholder aggregator, farmer leader, and smallholder farmers to join its Agro Geo-Cooperative model designed for field structuring (governance), sustainable farming. Their aim is to enable sustainable access to finance, ensure structured markets and quality inputs through the NIRSAL’s facilitation.

NIRSAL also aims at creating 16,000 Agro Geo-Cooperatives (Between 10 hectares to 20,001 hectares and above) on 4 million hectares of farmland and registering about 8 million farmers across Nigeria who are expected to produce around 12 million metric tonnes of Grain Product Equivalent (GPE) every year over the medium to long term.

In alignment with this, Enterprises, Individuals, Community Leaders, Corporate Bodies, N-POWER Beneficiaries, Graduates, Retired and Active leaders as well as farmers in: The World Bank FADAMA Programme, ADP programme, USAID MARKETS Programme, The World Bank Climate Adaptation and Business Support Programme, IFAD Value Chain Development Programme, AfDB Agric Programmes, the SASSAKAWA Global 2000 Programme, the DFID’s Propcom Maikarfi Programme and others that meet NIRSAL PLC’s eligibility requirements and also domiciled in or have access to their communities and farmers, are all encouraged make good use of this opportunity as a means of employment as well as a source of income generation through assisting the productive activities of their self-organized Agro Geo-Cooperatives.
